Hi everyone,

the Young Pirates of Europe now have a translation work group that aims
to provide translation services to YPE and its members.

We're not quite fully operational yet since we're just starting out. But
that will soon change, and we already have some projects planned, like
making the YPE homepage multilingual.

To do that and more, we need more team members! We already have quite a
few languages covered and would like to add even more to the list. And
of course, help for languages where we already have translators is
always appreciated.

So feel free to encourage your people to join the work group by signing
up to the mailing list:
https://lists.young-pirates.eu/listinfo/translation and adding
themselves to the team list on the YPE wiki:

Cheers,
Lukas

Why are you setting up a new own translation group, instead of trying to contribute the the PPI Translation Task Force (aka TTF)
http://wiki.pp-international.net/Translation_task_force
Mailinglist: http://lists.pp-international.net/listinfo/ttf
- it has currently over 80 Translators on it, and is working quite well.
I am afraid, that by setting up additional identical services, it will not benefit
overall to the service level (speed, easiness) of translation. I would rather
recommend that YPE would promote the PPI’s TTF and use it, and advice the
potential translators to subscribe to it.

If you have Ideas of how the TTF can be improved, we are open to your
contribution.

agree with Gregory. No point in setting up an identical service just
because you feel you need one. Pirate Times created a group of translators
outside of TTF because the tasks of these translators would be very
specific and continuos. For YPE translators I see that you're aiming for
the same goal that the current TTF has, translating pirate related content
on a case-to-case basis. If you still want to create a group with your own
translators I urge you to at least reflect on the following question:

What will the YPE translators do that can't be done in TTF?

kindly,
Josef
