[general] Future of YPE

Dear all,

sorry for being absent during the EP election campaign! I've been on the
road a lot and unable to attend the board meetings, but now that I have
successfully been elected and am settling into my new life in Brussels,
I want to pick things up again. As the second youngest MEP, one of my
goals is to be a voice of young people in the European Parliament and I
am planning on creating a permanent intern position in Brussels where
young pirates and other young activists can work on youth issues, YPE
visitors groups to the parliament etc. for periods of 3 to 6 months. At
the next board meeting, I would like to discuss the interaction between
YPE and my parliamentary work as well as the recruitment of interns (I
could imagine the YPE board recommending people from its various member
organisations or something like that).

Since I'm a bit out of the loop, is there a board meeting scheduled
sometime soon? If not, I'd suggest Thursday 19 June at 19 UTC+1
